From this tutorial, we are going to teach you about difference between NURBs and polygonal modeling.
This tutorial series is consisting on 6 tutorials and this one is very first part of this series. We are teaching you with toy chicken modeling in Maya. So stay with us and follow the direction. We are using toy chicken modeling as an example in which NURBs and Polygonal geometry has been using at same time. The model is being created with polygonal sphere and then using squeezing and squashing the geometry you will finally in this stage when you will enable to create complete modeling of toy chicken as in given video tutorial. At next, it needs to modify and create the body of the model with outline and shading techniques. Now go to our practical tutorial and launch Autodesk Maya. There is vast workspace in front of us with multiple commands and tools. Go to main menu setting and convert it into polygon. The shelf menu will automatically change with polygonal primitives. Choose polygonal sphere and it will appear on the surface of the grid. Later on, if you want to work under NURBs modeling, than change the main menu setting with surfaces. The Surface is new name for NURBs modeling and surface menu setting will convert the shelf menu icons with NURBs primitives. Watch the video to learn the concept visually.
