<p style="text-align: justify;">Dear visitors welcome to the part 2 of “<a href="../maya-modeling/maya-poly-modeling/architectural-modeling-maya-poly-modeling-maya-modeling/modeling-a-temple-using-simple-techniques-part-1.html">Modeling a Temple in Maya</a>”.  We are going to build a temple or a historical building in this tutorials sequel. So, you are going to learn architectural modeling in Maya. We have introduced some common and new techniques for modeling any building in Autodesk Maya. We have started last tutorial by creating temple’s doom and finished the tutorials by creating some upper story details. This temple is double story building. We have created pillars and roofs. In the second part we will create more details for ground floor and stairs and doors etc.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">We are going to build ground floor so will start this part by creating poly box in the middle of our scene. We will adjust the cube by scaling under upper story. According to reference image we have to create shade of main door of temple. Create a poly cube again and adjust it by scaling and rotating at its place. You can use attribute editor for exact measurements. When you satisfied duplicate the shade cube and mirror it and merge top vertices using Merge option. After that we will create ground for temple by creating poly cube and scaling it. We will add some pillars in door of temple by creating poly cylinder. We will add details to our pillars. When we will satisfy we will duplicate them and arrange them in door area.<br />

<p style="text-align: justify;">Dear user we are going to include a new video tutorial on Architectural Modeling. Every Autodesk Maya user is very fond of architectural modeling. Every step in modeling process has new aspects of joy. This tutorial is a project of constructing an imaginary enormous temple. We use Poly Meshes and primitives for construction of our temple. We will create simple shapes first and then we will give more details to our project. We will model a doom first and then we will go in details. For starting our project we will use Poly Sphere. Now we will cut the sphere from the center so it looks like a doom. For doing this job select the sphere and go to Edges mode. Then go to Front View panel our as you use to with. Select half of sphere’s edges and press dell button on keyboard. Now, you have a shape of doom. Go back to selection mode so that we will precede next steps. We will add more details to our doom. Go to shelve and click on Pipe poly mesh and drag a pipe around the doom. We will use same technique for cutting the pipe into half which we have used on sphere.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">When you we will satisfied with detail of pipe we duplicate it and will try to fit duplicate copy of pipe by rotating on x axis. After we will select all objects and scale it in Y-axis. Now, we will add a base to doom by creating a Torus and fitting it around bottom area of doom using scale and rotate tool.</p>

This mud hut modeling is being performed under hand on exercise with poly modeling in Maya. Most of work is done by editing polygons and you can use thousand of ways to edit these polygons. It depend on you which kind of tool or command you use for your easiness. Sometimes the nature of work changes the mind of artist for using specific tools for specific tasks. In architectural modeling, there is no idea of free hand modeling like this one. Architectural modeling requires very accurate numeric values from primary structure diagram during the heights of the architectural model. This tutorial doesn’t cover architectural modeling, but some polygons are taken from architectural modeling in Maya. The whole modeling is basically designed with polygonal cube for walls and roofs. </p>
<p>Extrude and reset its faces and edges and with continuous process one can model easily complete mud hut modeling. Take a test render and view whether it is better or not. Assign hyper shade texture to the model individually and finally render the scene. This time it will create realistic and reasonable image of scene. Though there is not proper video about this concept but video link is given in the end of this text. So watch this video of poly modeling of mud hut in Maya.</p>

We are creating chain modeling for our premade model of mud hut. Select its walls and delete it, similarly select the roof and also delete it. Go to polygonal primitives and choose polygonal torus. In attribute editor, under shape nodes choose Input and place values for their attributes like radius, twist axis and subdivision height. Create duplicate copy of this torus and rotate it at 90 degree, now move it ahead to make primary shape for chain. Select both shape and apply Boolean function of polygon to make union of them. That’s it now we can create further chain sequence by copying primary setting. In this way we have made modeling of chain and now group them all by Ctrl+G. To make head and tail of chain, take polygonal cube and adjust its size and shape for head of chain. </p>
<p>Create a polygonal sphere and make a duplicate copy of it. Adjust their position on both sides of cube. Select them one after other and apply combine command. Now again select the cube then both spheres and apply Boolean function union. Select the head of modified cube and rotate it slightly. The real skill is to modify the head shape and it’ll definitely take enough time. Finally the chain will be modeled and now render the model. After this Tutorial you will be able to model and texture a very beautiful door chain of ancient age with Maya Polygon Modeling feature.</p>

You can create terrain modeling with several methods. But in this lesson we shall use wave deformer to create terrain modeling. We are performing this tutorial under polygonal modeling, although it is not directly applied on polygonal modeling but some of techniques are applied under polygonal modeling. In our previous tutorial we have already created many modeling tutorial of polygonal modeling. Here we shall also get help from polygonal modeling because we want to model terrain for game developing and film industry purpose with realistic look. The terrain modeling are actually mud made hut model, using continuous work on terrain we shall be able to create complete terrain modeling. In this tutorial you will at least find out that how we can utilize the wave deformer for modeling instead of an animation, because it’s assumed that deformity are only used in animation however it is not true. </p>
<p>There are many times when we need to use a deformer for modeling task. I will upload a tutorial very soon which will show how to use deformity in modeling and especially in organic modeling. With deformity we sometime model softer and smooth objects in contrast of NURBS or even Subdivisions. The following video tutorial is about modeling of village hut which is being created with simple technique of modeling. Create a plane as a base or ground for the house. Go to channel box and using input menu, add amplitude and wavelength effects in your scene. Once you have done the job then assign material for the selected ground. Polygonal modeling tools are easy to use instead of NURBS modeling tools. In next part we shall do more work on our scene.</p>

Another thing that is necessary to mention here is the study of its dimension. Check the dimension level and accuracy after every affect. You can practice the polygonal tools by creating interesting object; it doesn’t matter about what is the purpose of that object. The tutorial is about modeling of tube well which is not accurate in display but it is created just for practice. The poly editing tools are used in this modeling which is not difficult to learn. You should have used them into many of creating object tutorials. If still they are incomprehensible then search on this site about learning of poly editing tools and you will definitely learn this concept. Polygonal modeling is very common in every kind of modeling because mostly models are designed with the help of polygonal primitives. We have explained the concept of polygon modeling in our previous tutorial so I don’t think that here it is needed to define polygonal modeling. On the other sites you should have also read about 3d graphics designing with detail in Maya learning courses.<br />
This tutorial defines the modeling of arch with free hand modeling technique without any pre-plan idea. This tutorial is here not for the regular modeling of arch but only discuss the way to create it with polygonal primitives. This technique is used for the modeling of construction medium in Maya as in engineering and construction field. The AutoCAD is used in this case as creating for map of your building. The building modeling is created in such way by following map and performance of Maya tools. The Boolean operation is thought important element in that modeling. The Boolean operation allows you to add, subtract the objects as well as we can unite and intersect them mutually for the cause of our model. Although Boolean functions are integrated in every 3d software but Maya is considered more appropriate to understand the geometry as compared to other 3d software.<br />

These buildings are designed under the Maya application. It is much easier to work in Maya if you are familiar to Maya basic tools. In this tutorial, you will learn about window modeling and then we shall go ahead step by step to the complex kind of modeling. For window modeling, we are required a block. Using transforming tools and extrude option we shall able to create the window model at whole. Make sure that main menu setting is as polygon. To create the design for window, select the face of the block and the go to front view port and add cut faces for the windows. Using extrude option squeeze them inward and then go to prospective viewport and you can see the effect clearly. Similarly select the centre of the building and create another window model by repeating same method. First of all select the door and windows faces,<br />
Go to Photoshop and create a color scheme for the door and window textures. For this purpose create new file then simply color with paint options in Photoshop, then select the ‘add noise’ clicking on noise options in the filter menu. Then save it with JPEG format.<br />
Come back in Maya, right click on the selected faces and then choose the ‘assign favorite material’ then go to Lambert then choose color checker box and then browse the last saved file.<br />
Then create ‘automatic mapping’ from ‘Create UVs’ then in the ‘color’ attribute editor choose the ‘place2dtexture’ and add values for the ‘Repeat UVs’ in both boxes.<br />
To make file less heavy extrude the windows inward and then delete the inward extruded faces.<br />
The move on to modeling pool,<br />
Create a polygon plane the scale it up to the floor of the pool using scale tool this plane act as the water surface to move it up to water level in pool,<br />
Right click selecting this face and then select the assign new material in the material attributes window click on ‘color’ select the ‘ocean shader’. Then attribute editor and then make the mesh transparent, refractive and for this purpose watch this free tutorial video.</p>
