This is an introductory tutorial about some basic concept of Maya tutorial. We are splitting these concepts into different parts and this one is second part where we shall learn about viewport, transform and hotkey.
When the object is opened in Maya, there we are in prospective view. We can convert the viewport into four viewports called orthographic viewport. There is button located on the left side of viewport, just click this button and the viewport split into four parts.
Each part of viewport shows different point of view about given object. If we maximize the viewport, there are several menu options allowing us to modify the object with just one click. These are most common menu option called panel toolbar.
On the left side of the user interface, there are tools box which is most appropriate option for object modification. There are 3D cube allowing us to move the object at desired stage.
The object manipulation tools are of three kinds, move, rotate and scale tools. The object can be move around anywhere with move tool.
The rotate tool deals with circulation of the model and scale tool allows you to larger or smaller the object. There is Maya preference located in window drop down list. The Maya preferences contain nearly all necessary concepts of Maya. Learn here in this video about this preference setting.
