Video – Water Flow in Maya

Nadeem | Jul 19, 2011 | Comments 0

Here we are going to explain you about how to create water flow scene in Maya. The water coming out from tap, or water pump will create wonderful geometry, therefore we shall use some medium of water flowing. We have already water basin in our scene as we have created it before so half of work has done which make us easy in our scene project. Now we have to flow out the water from basin valve. We are performing this operation in Autodesk Maya with dynamic category. As all of you know that some effects in Maya are created with particle system e.g. water, cloud, fire and wind. Therefore we shall create water flow effect with particle system. The particles system has several particle setups and offers you to create affect of your own choice by using relevant particle setup. When we use them for our project, it looks like real particles but when we finish our task, it converts into real affect and make our scene realistic. Remember that the particle affects works due to emitter which controls particle setting in your scene. At this stage the emitter emits the particle affects but we are required to convert it as water flow. Once you have created water affect, and then don’t forget to add gravity in your scene. After this, play the animation and watch the result as in following video.
